“Something You Should Know” Mission & Edit Update #1

Dear Friends of Mine from 47 countries,

Thank you all for registering!

This is my first letter to the huge global audience who have registered on www.fansonfilm.com . I wanted to take a moment to update you on the progress of the film and our mission to unite Duran Duran fans from around the world. As always a registered fan will receive this info before someone who simply visits the news page without registering.

As you can imagine, I am thrilled that thousands of fans are registering daily from everywhere, especially because we have not
advertised our site in anyway to search engines or previewed any material on the site etc… This massive outpouring of support is all a direct result of the Duranie nation uniting to support this mission & this film. I think it is incredible what united we can accomplish. I continue to greatly appreciate your effort in spreading the word, however, please keep emailing, telling your friends about the film & to register, so your wonderful “Careless memories” will be preserved forever. Also, I am very curious to see how many people have friends inother countries that you might not have thought about until now.

Our registered Fans on Film fans come from the following 47 countries:

Afghanistan,Argentina,Australia,Austria,Brazil,Belgium,Bulgaria,Canada,Chile,China,Costa Rica, Croatia,Denmark, Estonia,
Ireland,Finland,Greece,France,French Polynesia, Germany, Hungary,Iceland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Malaysia,
Macedonia,Mexico,The Netherlands,New Zealand,Norway,Peru,Philippines,Poland,Portugal,Romania,Serbia/Montenegro, Russia, Slovakia,Slovenia,Spain,Sweden,Thailand, Turkey,United Kingdom,and the United States

Now the edit update:
In the editing process, we have made many painful decisions in an effort to make the best film possible in a 75 to 90 minute feature.Typically, in film post production, we create what we call “WORKPRINTS”- these are the multiple versions of multiple edits or ideas where the goal is to find how your film flows, if it tells the story in a complete way, and if you “feel it”. Every post person has there own method-I usually “work print” 5 versions before I call it officially a rough cut and have basic “picture lock” . So here is where we stand officially: I am currently on Work print Version 4 now, it has a running time of 2 hours and 20 minutes and we will be reducing even farther to reach our story, time goals, and pure picture lock.

So now there truly is “Something You Should Know” ! and the DVD extras
in production are very very cool !!!

Thank you again,

M.Douglas
