Director’s Statement
Dear “Friends of Mine”,
It was with great passion when I embarked on this project almost 3 and half years ago to tell your story. As the independent director and producer of this film, it has truly been an awe-inspiring sensation to watch this project come alive. Through creativity, a tremendous amount of hard work, and with gratitude for the plenty of help from loved ones and friends - this project is nearing the final phases of development and completion. I am thrilled to soon share a final film with you that I hope will excite you as much as it has me.
When can you see this film you ask? My answer, If you are interested in having your story heard across the globe, it is at this point that I kindly ask you for your support. Whether you have 15 seconds a day or 2 hours a week, it is important to begin to tell the world about this film and this website!
The only true way to guarantee that your story is told throughout the globe in theatres, at film festivals, on television, and DVD is to demonstrate to networks, distributors, and festival programmers that there is a global market and burning desire for this film. Mission Statement
The vision for Something You Should Know: The Duran Duran Fan Documentary is for it to become, a multiple film festival winner, a cable television classic, and a hit DVD to be sold, on the web and to major retail chains.
This film will interest a large cross-section of music and film lovers due to its compelling content – Duran Duran seen through the eyes of their fans. The film combines unique, funny and often touching stories about the extraordinary community of Duran Duran fans. At no time will the film intend to belittle the fans or defame their character; instead, we will let the fans share and explain their passion, inspiration and excitement for Duran Duran. Editorially, the film will offer a diverse set of fans and distinctive stories to demonstrate that Duran Duran fans span a broad demographic of ages, nationalities, income levels, and professions.
Despite their many differences, “Duranies” have been united across the world through a common thread of inspiration, passion, and community for over 25 years, because of only one thing, a band named Duran Duran.
