3 YEARS AGO TODAY

Remarkably, It was 3 years ago today I began principle photography on “Something You Should Know: the Duran Duran Fan Documentary”. Wow! What a wonderful journey it has been! This same time last year, I completed a version of the film I was very proud of but realized it was not fully meeting my own creative standards or story goals. I wrestled with structure, length and have made many compromises to reach this point. The final legal affairs and minor polishing of the film are being completed as we speak. Essentially, other than our final mix, graphics/titles, and color correction we are done. That sounds weird to say, but very soon we will be able to start promoting, previewing, entering festivals, choosing our distributors, and networks to work with.

I am thrilled with the film, that is now approx 72 minutes and is a blast to watch from end to end. I have shown it to several of the main characters, who all cried and laughed ( at the correct places :) ) and they agree that this is the complete “Duranie” story and that there is “Something You Should Know”!

All the best,

M.Douglas

GRAMMY TIME !!!

Hi All,

I am at the Grammy’s filming behind the scenes with the amazing Chris Brown. He is a 16 year old singing sensation who is on the cover of Vibe this month . You may know his hits Run It & Yo, if not check him out!!! He is the real deal and heir apparent to Michael Jackson. So, following his amazing rise to stardom over the last several months has been great! Yesterday during Rehearsals we saw Rod Stewart, Anthony Hamilton & Fantasia Barino, at the Clive Davis pre-grammy party. Also last night I saw Diana Ross,Actor John Voight,Dave Grohl (foo fighters),Director Cameron Crowe & wife Nancy Wilson, Ludacris, and Jaime Foxx etc….. What fun!

Rock On,

M

Happy 2006 to all!

Hello Globe,

I hope everyone has had a great holiday season and are excited about 2006, I know I am! I want to thank everyone who has sent me photos and videos from their Duranie Youth - you rock! I am unable to tell everyone if their photos made it or not because 1) there are a ton of photos to coordinate 2) honestly - not all the scans are good enough quality to blow up in a film and 3) a few I am still considering for DVD layout or Menus etc… Regardless if your shared image was appropriate or not, I really really appreciate your support and participation in a film about you and your friends.

Also, I will be posting two of the finalist of our poster competition in the media section today.

In addition, I will be attending the SBS screening in New York this Saturday and will be answering any questions you might have. So ask your NYC screening crew your questions for me.

More! More! More!….. to come soon!
